Technically, I started bowling when I was 12 years old, but that was a short-lived career. I’ve always bowled on leagues. I’m poorly disciplined, so I bowl on a league. I don’t practice, ever, I just play because it’s the competition I like. I just started again about four years ago in this league. What I like best about bowling is that I have a ball that has an asymmetrical pour and that means that it curves as it goes down. So my favorite thing is having to figure out the angles and triangulating the break in my ball with the pins with my footwork and starting place. So, it’s the mental challenge that I relish. The coolest thing is that I won my ball!
My favorite memory, is that last year, for the first time in my entire life, I bowled a 200 game.

I just love these women. They are like the sisters I never had. I give them shit, I compete with them and give them love and they are totally receptive to that. I love them so much. They are like family. This is a big social event for me every week. I live in Hollister now, but I come here every week. The staff are really sweet and super helpful. Everyone knows each other, especially if you bowl in both summer and winter leagues.
